Outpost PR Stunts - Forza Horizon (2024)

Each Outposts you discovered functions as a Fast Travel destination for its region in the game, the idea being to provide a means for you to move from region to region without having to drive there -- which can be an attractive utility later in the game, however I want to caution you against using it early in your game play for a number of reasons:

(1) It is not free. To utilize the Outposts as a Fast Travel destination you are required to pay a sum of in-game currency until you have completed all three of the special PR Stunt events that are available at each of the Outposts - the completion of which obtains a discount on the Fast Travel Fee that grows larger with each PR Event completed.

When you complete the third PR Event at each Outpost Fast Travel to that Outpost is thereafter Free of Charge.

(2) Using the Outpost Fast Travel System early in play will cost you loads of Popularity Points that you would otherwise have collected by driving to the races in that Outpost's region.

Bearing in mind that you need to unlock 249 Levels of Popularity in the game in order to have completely unlocked all of the associated Achievements for that system, sacrificing the Popularity Points you would ordinarily gain in driving to events will mean that rather than being a natural part of game play completion, the Popularity Levels will have to be intentionally unlocked, which can result in them becoming a chore.

The Popularity System should not end up being experienced as a chore, so do yourself a favor and avoid allowing it to become one.

(3) If you Purchase the Fast Travel License: In addition to the Treasure Map that can be purchased for $4.99 there is also a Fast Travel License that is also available for $4.99 (in real-world funds) via the DLC System in the Live Store.

This is useful later in the game for when you want to just set up races or play around, but not so useful (and certainly not required) for regular play. Making use of the Fast Travel Anywhere License also tends to cost you Popularity Points that you miss by not driving to each event, so I suggest you simply not purchase it or, if you do, only use it after you have unlocked the #1 Slot for Driver Popularity.

The PR Events

Each Outpost in the game has 3 similar PR events associated with it, and when you complete the three stunts you unlock free Fast Travel to that Outpost.

Complete all three Stunts at all of the Outposts to gain Fast Travel ability to the Outposts without having to pay for it.

Note that that does NOT grant Anywhere Fast Travel -- to get that you actually have to pay $5 in real world money to the Live Store for that add-on. But being able to get to the Outposts for free does let you move between the regions of the map.

For each of the PR Stunts you are provided with the ride that is required to do the stunt, and given the details of the stunt.

Each one will have different requirements. For example there are Speed Stunts that require you to hit specific speeds or better within a timer at a specific speed trap.

There are Photo Stunts that require you to drive the car to a specified location -- without damaging it -- and then take a photo of it.

Skill-based Stunts require you to build a specified amount of Skill Points within a set amount of time.

Note that the PR Stunts are one-offs -- once you do them they are done and cannot be repeated.

Type I: Speed Stunt

The Speed Stunt simply requires you to hit a designated speed (or better) in the car that is provided to you for that stunt.

The car that is provided is easily capable of reaching and exceeding the designated speed, so this is really more of a matter of avoiding road traffic and navigating the road to reach the marked Speed Camera at or beyond the designated target speed.

Each of the cameras is clearly marked on the radar display, so you will know where they are and how rapidly you are approaching them. Should you find that you are not traveling at a speed sufficient to reach the required MPH prior to hitting the Speed Camera, you can rewind your run to correct whatever mistake you made that cost you speed.

The Speed Stunt ties with the Photo Stunt as the easier of the three stunts to complete for each Outpost.

Type II: Photo Stunt

The Photo Stunt is actually a lot easier than it sounds, largely due to the fact that play rewind is left active for these stunts, and there is no active timer applied.

When you are granted control of the car simply drive it to the designated location, assure that the required background object(s) are present in the view, activate the Photo Mode, and take the Photo to complete them.

There is a damage meter on screen and, should you somehow end up damaging the car simply rewind the time scale to a point prior to damaging it and resume the trip.

The Stunt description clearly indicates what elements of the scene are required to be shot in the background to succeed in completing each Photo Stunt, and you are provided with unlimited attempts. The game will coach you by telling you what is missing from the photo when you take it and it does not fulfill the requirements.

Often your greatest challenge for this type of Stunt is determining where specifically it is that the game wants you to park the car prior to taking the photo.

Type III: Skills Stunt

This is without question the most challenging of the three types of stunt, largely due to the fact that the designated minimum score required gets larger with each successive Outpost, and there is an active timer running -- which means you only have so many minutes to complete the accumulation of the score specified in the challenge.

For the lower level Outposts it is usually sufficient for you to simply drive fast and narrowly avoid hitting other cars on the road, as th at will result in cumulative bonus scores and when missing multiple cars in succession will also add-in bonus points like the Daredevil Bonus Scheme.

For the more advanced challenges you will need to actively score points by drifting, trading paint, running at high speeds, and executing planned stunts with an eye towards packing on the bonus multipliers by keeping the points rolling in through chaining the stunts and skill moves.

Oddly this is among the most challenging of the events in the game, and it does not even factor in as part of the main quest series!
